A discussion program on "Banking Today and Tomorrow" was organized by Pokhara University School of Business Alumni Association on June 1st 2019 AD (Jestha 18 th 2076 BS). The Pokhara University School of Business Alumni Association (PUSOBAA) organized an interactive session on "Maintaining Financial Stability and Economic Growth of Nepal: Role of Nepal Rastra Bank" on December 10, 2024, at the IAC Hall, School of Business, Pokhara University. The event featured a keynote address by Mrs. Bina Dhakal Paudel, Director of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), who provided valuable insights into the central bank’s crucial role in safeguarding financial stability and driving Nepal’s economic growth. The program was presided over by PUSOBAA President Kalpana Subedi and hosted by Bishnu Timilsena, Secretary of Alumni. Also, the program was coordinated by Sunil Dhakal, Joint Secretary of PUSOBAA.
The session attracted 33 participants, including students from BBA, BBA-BI, and MBA programs, who engaged in meaningful discussions about the challenges facing Nepal's economy and NRB’s role in addressing them. In addition to the keynote address, distinguished guests like Dr. Srijan Gyawali (Chief Guest), Dr. Balaram Bhattarai (MBA Coordinator), Dr. Shanti Devi Chhetri(Cell coordinator), and Dr. Bharat Ram Dhungana (Asso. professor) shared their perspectives on the theme. Mahesh Raj Devkota, an alumni member, welcomed the participants with a warm speech, while Dr. Dhungana summarized the session's key takeaways.
The program provided a platform for academia, alumni, and policymakers to come together and discuss critical economic issues, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. The thoughtful discussions and expert insights emphasized the importance of the central bank's efforts in tackling economic challenges and supporting sustainable growth, leaving participants inspired and more informed about Nepal’s financial ecosystem.
